Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
REESE’S TAKE 5
Today we look at a chocolate bar that was re-released in 2019 and slightly re-branded so that it came under the Reese’s family. The original Take 5 was released in 2004 by the Hershey company, and since then has gone through changes including the way its made and the flavours added.
The number 5 is related to five main ingredients that make product – chocolate, peanuts. caramel, peanut butter and pretzels. When it was rebranded and taken over by Reese the peanut butter changed to be part of their version and brand. To help with the rebrand of the name, they had a group of ‘diverse millennial’ students help them come up with ideas in 2011. You can purchase these bars either as a single or in multipacks and are available from all different grocery stores.
These bars have a strong following online and a lot of people have written really positive reviews for these and it is probably why they have been around for so long. I think since Reece’s have taken over people enjoy it a lot as well.
