Your latest single you have released:

Our latest single is a sultry acoustic serenation called Day Break. It’s taken off our upcoming debut album ‘Look At Me Now’ (which you can pre-order at www.novacrowofficial.com/store). We released it with a stunning music video filmed by Ben Gladwin here in Liverpool. It’s great.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

Our first single was ‘Fight The Horde!!!’, released sometime around 2014. We filmed a hilariously silly music video for it in a warehouse full of random shit. The song is a live staple for us to this day and is by far our most streamed song to date.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

‘Look At Me Now’ was specifically made with the intention of having every song sound completely different from the last, so it’s a bit hard for us to compare one song to the next off that album. Sometimes I feel like ‘My Virtues’ is the best track on it because it’s so wildly different from anything we’ve done before and is one of the most soulful tracks we’ve written, other times I feel like ‘Medusa Medusa’ is the best one because it’s a really fun track and is incredibly catchy, and other times I feel like ‘Hollow Armour’ is my favourite for other reasons – it’s really hard to say.

Your favourite song to play live:

Fat Frog. We get to whip out our kazoos halfway during the song (no, that’s not an euphemism) and we can jump in the audience and fuck around, it’s a lot of fun.

Your most emotional track:

I think one of the songs that resonates the most with people is The Mantra, which we released as a b-side to our first single ‘Fight The Horde!!!’ back in 2014. It’s a powerhouse of a song that whispers sweet nothings in your ear and then punches you right in the gut.

The best lyric you have ever written:

Again, hard to say. Kitty is a fantastic lyricist and she’s very good at writing about hard hitting subjects in a way that really resonates with the listener. Off the top of my head, I’d say the lyrics in Hollow Armour might be some of my favourites:

‘Do you feel the ropes?
Before you can stop them they have slithered up around your wrists
Do you bear the chains?
The weight overcomes you it’s impossible to resist

Do you see the mist?
It blurs your vision till the pathways disappear
Do you hear them too?
The whispers that scrutinize your every hope and fear’

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

It’s pure, unadulterated sexual prowess. 

The hardest track to play live:

Fortunately our songs aren’t particularly technical, but maybe ‘Not Your Mannequin’ has the most intricate riffing.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

A Nintendo Switch, so we can play Mario Kart competitively backstage and ignore the rest of the world.

If we had written ‘Happy Birthday’, we’d be unbelievably rich off the royalties.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:
