Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Sweet Disposition

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Sweet Disposition – Temper Trap

Today we are going to look at a track that you will more then likely recognise from a form of media as it has been used on a lot of advertisements, films and even computer games but we will come to that all later on in the article. Sweet Disposition was released by the Australian indie Rock Band Temper Trap on the 16th September 2008.

The track was released on the record label of Infectious in the UK and written by Dougy Mandagi and Lorenzo Sillitto. It was the lead single from their debut album which was called Conditions. The single did well in the charts and went to number 1 in the UK Indie Chart and the US Dance/Mix Show Airplay. It did better in countries in Europe (for example Belgium it went to number 6 and Ireland number 8) then it did in Australia where it only went into the charts at number 14.

As I mentioned at the beginning, this song has been used a lot in different forms of media and I am sure this is how I first discovered the song in the first place. Some of the things that this track has been used for in popular culture include 500 Days of Summer, 3 Days To Kill, Sky Sports, O2 and Diet Coke.

This is one of those songs that is really easy to chill out to, it has a constant tempo to it that is relaxing and has a really interesting electronic sound to it.
