Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Falling Giant

Tell Us About:

Your latest single you have released:

Our latest single is ‘Golden Boys’. It was an experiment. It is a tribute to the hard rock of the 80s and to all his imagery. We wanted to try our hand at a more commercial sound. It is the last single that closes our first album ‘MMXVII MMXXII’

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

Our first single was ‘Dead Man on a Tree’.

It is our first song ever created together. We got in the car and drove to the remote countryside near Rome to reach a recording studio and do everything in one day. That was the band’s first real adventure. It is a single that has many imperfections, and is on the album as a bonus track for those who buy the album through bandcamp. The song is very unripe, but it all started from that song.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

The song we owe everything to is undoubtedly ‘Hades’. It is the song that launched us into the world. In its small way it became a hit and it is thanks to this song that we realized we can do things seriously. It was a small miracle and it is the true way of our style.

Your favourite song to play live:

We have a lot of fun playing ‘Kings of Babylon’. It really is the essence of our band, in the sound, in the rhythms, in the style. It always has a very strong impact live and the audience is captured every time we play it.

Your most emotional track:

‘Mountains’. It is a song with a very intimate meaning. It is an inner growth, a spiritual search …

The best lyric you have ever written:

Undoubtedly, Hades’ text still surprises us a lot. We are very fussy about the lyrics. We always want the best from our songs. Everyone in the band has their favorite, but we all agree that ‘Hades’ is arguably the best for now.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Pure adrenaline. Dark energy that channels through the veins. The emotion of the stage is the best thing about this work. It is the starting point and the ending point, the alpha and the omega. When you feel your heart tightening and vibrating, and the audience waiting for you

The hardest track to play live:

On a singing level, without a doubt ‘Perseverance’. It is a ball of energy on very high notes. As for the more complex piece, I would dare to say ‘Hades’, but not so much for the technique, but for the emotionality that this piece needs.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

Gaetano: Within our show there are many little things that are indispensable, such as the crowns we wear during ‘Kings of Babylon’.Each of us has his own whims and his cult objects to take on tour, such as stage clothes. Some are always the same …But for me, the most important thing to bring is my camera. I love to document everything about the band.

Describe your fans in three words:

Sensual and attractive demons

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

Livin ‘La vida loca!

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

It is a very busy year. We are working on the new album. It is a very ambitious project and it is a great compositional challenge for us. Meanwhile we are planning the tour and all the live shows that will take us a long time, we can’t wait. This is thanks to our managers. We recently signed with DEADFALL and the work is going very well.
