Tell Us about:
Your latest single you have released:
‘Drag’ which was released July 5th.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
My first single dropped earlier this year in January and it was called ‘Thoughts on God’. That song meant a lot to me because it was the result of a lot of hard work over that past year during the height of the global pandemic and quarantine. I had a lot of time to reflect on myself and where I wanted my musical journey to take me.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
‘Drag’ is hands down my favorite song that I’ve released thus far. I have lots more songs ready to go, but for now this track would absolutely make the album if I was working on an album.
Your favourite song to play live:
So far it’s got to be my song ‘loser’. That song I released a couple months back and it’s for sure a fun song to perform live. I have yet to perform my first live set under my new project but the rehearsals are well under way and that song is by far the rehearsal set favorite.
Your most emotional track:
‘Drag’ is definitely the most emotional. I put a lot of personal experience into the lyrics that I wrote for that song. It has a darker musical vibe for sure which allows the listener to really fall into the moment I believe.
The best lyric you have ever written:
“I don’t want to let you in because I’ll let you win. And i don’t want to let you win”
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
It’s a real nervous rush of adrenaline. I know exactly what I am about to do yet still, I get a little bit scared each time. It’s a lot to be singing something so personal to a crowd of people who are just judging you from the start. It’s something I welcome though. My goal with my songs is to leave an impact with everything that I put out and the live shows really add to that overall positive musical experience.
The hardest track to play live:
‘Thoughts on God’ is by far the hardest. It’s the most impactful though and I think that comes with the territory of a song being meaningful. Vocally it’s a lot more demanding but that’s the way I want it to be because I know that i’m capable of that level of difficulty. Practice makes perfect and this song definitely hits home when everything comes together correctly on stage.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Ladies speed stick deodorant. I can’t get enough of how good it smells. Also a portable power brick for my phone/camera/nintendo/etc. That has saved my life more times than I can count.
Describe your fans in three words:
Best friends ever. I have fans that have stuck with me through a lot of musical projects and incarnations of my journey. I can’t express how thankful I am that they still care about the things I have to say after all these years.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
‘Six feet under the stars’ by All Time Low. This song was a song that got me through a lot when I was a teenager coming up in the music scene and it was always my go to in a battle of the bands situation. Words can’t express how badly I wish I wrote this song.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
This year you can look forward to hearing from me absolutely everywhere. I have lots of songs left to drop this year and many new shows/collaborations to announce as well. I’m very excited for this year and what’s to come.
