The summer, what a glorious time to be going on your holidays, in that hot weather, the sun, the sea, the sand! Well, whilst a lot of you are on your out of Office time of the year I thought it would be fun to spend the month of August reminiscing about the world of summer travel. Now, I tend to go on a lot of my holidays in the winter but a few summer ones stand out in my mind. Today we are going to look at Walt Disney World.

I lived in New York for three months in the summer and I had a great time, in my last week I planned a trip to Florida to visit Universal Studios and Disney as I had always wanted to go and it was the perfect opportunity. I learnt right from the start, four days was not enough to do the parks and in that time we did four. The first Disney park that we did was Hollywood Studios, it was everything I wished for and more.

I am a huge fan of old Hollywood so this park I found was amazing. I wish I had been able to spend more time in the park and I hope that I can return again to experience it in its entirety. It was a fun day, however we were relying on a hotel shuttle bus to get back to our room so we had to leave by a certain time. It was also the last shuttle bus of the day so we had to get it no matter what. Well, as soon as we were leaving the park the world of summer in Orlando decided to show its dark side and the craziest thunder and lightning started.

It was the middle of summer so it was very hot and humid so this was the result of this, the problem was we were outside Disney trying to run across a car park to get to the shuttle bus. The lightning was like nothing I had ever seen, it was hitting the floor all around us and was absolutely terrifying. Luckily we made it to the bus safely but the lightning was very scary and completely unpredictable. I know it is not your average summer story but we will have more fun ones next week,.
