Hello! Tell us about yourself?
Hey!! We’re Split Infinitive, a Lincolnshire based company dedicated to create engaging, intimate and original pieces of theatre. We love interacting with our audience and making them as much as part of the show as we are performing it!
How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the Camden fringe?
I Heart Michael Ball is the title of our latest show and it’s the only title ever came up with. It’s a about a character who LOVES Michael Ball (and don’t we all) so it was the only title it could be.
Tell us a little bit about your style of show?
We create work that is performed as a conversation. We want to engage with our audience and talk to them throughout our shows. We love to perform in small intimate spaces where we can see the faces of everyone looking back at us. We love to tell true to life stories, filled with laughed and tears, exploring relationships between people.
What will your set be about?
I Heart Michael Ball explores grief and loss through the eyes of a Michael Ball fanatic, Alex. Alex has invited all the members to the 10th bi-annual meeting of the Michael Ball Appreciation Society with a little surprise in store for them all. Alex tells the story of the relationship with his brother, their upbringing and their shared love for Michael Ball. As the meeting progresses, Alex’s confessions become to take a dark turn.
What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?
Threedumb Theatre’s Dog/Actor, Blue Dog Theatre’s Moral Panic, and Stephen Bowen’s Reach for the Lasers
What advice would you give to others who want to perform at Camden Fringe next year?
Just go for it!! We’d never been before 2021 and just thought “Sod it! What’s the worst that can happen!” and we loved it! That’s why we’re coming back for a second year! #What are your favourite things about London? The theatre scene, the restaurants, the night life!
What are your three favourite things about Camden?
The shopping, the people, the festival
Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?
“F*** me! Sex with a guy is messy!” (Three Way 2021 tour)
Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?
For this show? Michael Ball of course!!
The iconic image of the Camden Fringe is the Pigeon – if you could call this years pigeon a name to represent its style what would it be and why?
Tempted to say Michael Ball with his little dickie but I think he’s have to be Dapper instead.
