Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Hi! We are the Sugarcoated Sisters! We are Chloe and Tabby Tingey, a musical comedy duo and real-life siblings from Hertfordshire. We started posting comedy videos on TikTok in January 2020 and since then have gained almost 400K followers, over 42M views and 6.7M likes. Our content covers feminism, dating, UK culture and more packaged as original, well-produced musical sketches. We jumped into the live comedy scene in Jan 2022, and we were super excited to win Best Newcomer at the Musical Comedy Awards a few months later!

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

Well, we are called the Sugarcoated Sisters, but our show is not quite as sweet as that sounds! We thought it was a fun play on words with ‘Bittersweet’ for the nostalgia of having moved back home, but also we are very bitter about it!

Tell us all about your show!

Bittersweet is about two hopelessly flawed sisters who move back to their home-town to discover unfinished business lurking around every corner. Armed with original songs, a guitar and double bass, no musical style is off- limits as ammunition for their scathing revenge on everyone who’s ever wronged them!

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Charlie Russel Aims To Please! We love Charlie in Mischief’s Play That Goes Wrong and we can’t wait to see her one-woman show! Some of our fellow TikTokers (Abi Clarke, Christian Brighty, Chris Hall) will be up there too and we are looking forward to seeing them do their thing live!

Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?

‘We’ve even sucked on the same cock’ – both of us.

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

Rest when you need to! It is super fun and exhilarating to cram as much in as possible, but remember to give yourself a chance to recharge!

What is the most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?

For us, it will be managing our mental and physical health. Chloe has bipolar type 2 and Tabby has type 1 diabetes, so taking care of ourselves will be a priority, especially in such an overstimulating environment! We have wellbeing plans in place to help us navigate that though, so hopefully we can stick to them and enjoy some sense of routine!

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. They are a huge inspiration to us and we have a feeling they’d be well up for the audience participation!

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

For sweet revenge!
