Hello! Tell us about yourself?

Yo, I’m Erika Ehler, a comedian, tv writer and certified freak.

How did you come up with the name of your show that your taking to the fringe?

I said it to a friend as a joke title and they were like no that’s really good.

Tell us all about your show!

It’s a show mostly about my experiences with the dudes I’ve dated but I also talk about other stuff like Body Image, Ted Bundy and one or more terror atack.

What other acts are you looking forward to seeing at the fringe?

Olga Koch, Frankie Boyle and all the big american acts who are coming over: Janeane Garofalo, Bianca Del Rio, Patti Harrison to name a few.

Have you done the fringe before? What are the key pieces of advice you have been given or would give to new groups or people performing at the fringe.

3 times before but only once as a full run. Make sure you have a good group of people you are living with. I find that can make or break the experience. Bring a coat because summer doesn’t mean anything in Scotland.

What have been some of your favourite shows to date and why?

Back in 2018 I saw Sean McLoughlin’s Hail Mary. I’m in awe of that show.

Favourite one liner you have done in a show and why?

“Thank you guys for coming out here on a monday. I’m a lot like Garfield. I hate mondays but I do anal”

Why, It’s a joke I can really only use on one day of the week and I don’t know about you but I find anythign to do with cartoons becoming sexual is so funny to me.

What three items are essential for a successful Fringe?

  • Molly Mcguiness
  • Hannah Lawrance
  • Bria Hiebert

They are not Items but I think besties are definitely essential for a successful fringe and oh and valium.

What have been some of the most unique and different comedy shows you have seen this year and why?

The Jain Edwards Show is a live talk show with a band and a bunch of other stuff. But each month they create a new show based on who the comic guest is and its always so good. I wish there was more shows like that around the UK .

What is the best way to enjoy yourself at the fringe?

with a kinder egg shot at banshee labyrinth  (I hope they still make those)

The best thing about performing at the fringe?

The people you get to meet! …  It’s like summer camp but for comics.

The most challenging thing about performing at the fringe?

Also the people! loool…. you mean some strange folks but its all fun cause you get some insane stories.

What would be your top three items every performer must take to the fringe?

Rain coat, good shoes for walking and salami just as a treat.

What’s the secret to successful flyering?

An insane title and good conversation. people are always ready to blow you off maybe sure you have something that will make their heads turn and when they do keep the convo to be engaging.

Who would be your ultimate dream audience member?

Other intellectual women with big naturals. I want my environment to be a product of me.

If people want to find out more about you, where can they follow you on social media?

@erikaehler on everything

And Finally in three words – Why should people come and see the show?

dark dirty comedy.
