HOSTESS SEA SALT CARAMEL CUPCAKES

Today we are going to look at an item that was released by the brand Hostess in 2015. It was a product that was released to continue their aim to evolve and innovate since they returned in 2013 as a brand. Today we look at the Hostess Sea Salt Caramel Cupcakes. 

On the 31st July 2015, Hostess released a brand new limited edition flavour – Sea Salt Caramel Cupcakes. The cakes would come in a box of eight and could be purchased from grocery stores for $2.97. The aim of the flavour was to introduce a sophisticated style one to the brand. 

The snack consisted of a yellow cake that was filled with a caramel creme filling, topped with iced sweet caramel frosting, a chocolate squiggle and a sprinkle of sea salt. There are few reviews of this cake online and they state that the salt taste is part of the highlight. There are criticisms as well that the cake is slightly mushy and does not taste right with the caramel flavours.
