Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Young Americana is my pandemic project in a way. Meaning that these songs were my therapy during a difficult time. They symbolize optimism in a dark place, and freedom after you’ve felt trapped. The project is celebrating life in the face of life’s challenges.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
My first single was a track called “Sisters”, written with Itamar Gov-Ari and the New York MC “Yoh”, and produced by Brasstracks. “Sisters” will always mean a lot to me because it was written about the important female individual in my life and we made it in my living room. It just will always feel beautiful and wholesome to me. Pure.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
It’s currently a toss up between “Somebody Like Me” feat. Brasstracks off of the Humphrey album and “Heaven Help Me” off go the Young Americana album.
Your favourite song to play live:
“Quality Of Life”
Your most emotional track:
Either “Ride Home” featuring Julia Zivic and Fatherdude or “Give A Light To You”.
The best lyric you have ever written:
Haha, well I’m a big believer in the idea that there is certainly no “best.” They either feel good and mean something or they don’t. Most songs that make it out to the world from me, both feel good and mean something.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Pure, blissful, excitement. Nothing like it in the world.
The hardest track to play live:
“Little Things.”
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Toothbrush, contact lenses, and good vibes.
Describe your fans in three words:
Sweet, music lovers.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
“Hot Street” by Julia Zivic.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
Hopefully a bunch of new music and shows all around the globe!
