Welcome To Taste of States a place where we celebrate the weird and wonderful food of the United States of America. This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
OREO PISTACHIO THINS
I love talking about different flavours of Oreos because America has so many different flavours that we do not have in the United Kingdom that it can be exciting to find out what is out there. Today we are going to look at a flavour that sounds interesting and has a fan following – Oreo Pistachio Thins.
I do not know if you have heard of the Thins version of Oreos but they are a thinner version of the biscuit and you can get 40 in a packet and you could even buy a box version where you have up to 140 cookies. The company who own Oreo like to test out lots of new flavours all the time, the Pistachio version saw the signature sandwich cookie filled with a pistachio creme.
The cookies were a fan favourite but it was announced that they were discontinued recently. Unlike other flavours, at the moment there is no news as to whether they are going to return. When you read reviews online, it is obvious that these were a treat to eat as there is a lot of praise for the pistachio creme in the centre. There are reviews that even comment on how rich and bold the flavour is of the creme.
