Sunday Book Club – The Paid Bridesmaid, Sariah Wilson

Every Sunday we are taking a look at the world of books. I read a lot and always want to share my opinions on what I read, so I thought it would be fun to write reviews. Today we look at the rom com book called The Paid Bridesmaid

The Paid Bridesmaid (2022)

Sariah Wilson

Synopsis

Rachel Vinson is a bridesmaid for hire: part confidante, part wedding planner, and one hundred percent pretend BFF. Discretion guaranteed. Her next gig is a destination wedding—livestreamed and sponsored–for an Instagram influencer. That means a paradise of new contacts, which could be a boon to her already booming business. If Rachel can keep the very handsome and slightly too interested best man at bay, that is.

Positive Points

The book is a fun read, the one thing that Sariah is very good at is painting a picture and building the tension up between the two love interests. The way that she writes about the characters make you want to keep reading the book and find out what happens.

Negative Points

I have read a few of Sariah Wilsons books now and the one thing that always disappoints me is the fact that the last few chapters of the book always feel rushed. I always feel that the end needs to breathe a bit but instead it is crammed into a couple of chapters when it should be a minimum of five. I also find they all tend to have the same sort of ending and they are pretty unbelievable and wished that they were written differently as the books as such a good read that completely rounding up everything feels not always the answer.

Overall Review

For a romcom book it is a good read although I would say that enjoy the first three quarters of it and be prepared for the ending to be slightly rushed. It is a fun little story that you can engage with really easily and if you are looking for a summer read then this is for you.
