Tell Us about:
Your latest single you have released:
My latest album is titled “The Ten”, each track in this album is created from the field recordings from ten places that I’ve traveled to. Most of them are national parks, for example, “The Boulder” is using foleys that I’ve recorded in Joshua Tree National Park in California, the instruments were coming from the boulder. I put the knocking rock sound into a wavetable synth, transform it into a bass sound. I also transpose the same sound and put it into a granular synth to make it an endless-delayed drum.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
My first single is “Into the Cloud”, an instrumental Chillstep track with no lyrics. I felt a relief, to write and release music is almost like a healing method to me. I can finally express myself without using language, and I believe some people would feel the same.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
The Ganoderma, this song is from my latest album ‘The Ten’. My grandma’s name was coming from ‘Cyan Ganoderma’, this song is written for her. By writing this song, my childhood memory of her smiles came out into my mind, she lives in my thoughts forever.
Your favourite song to play live:
The Fury Tail.
Your most emotional track:
Silent Eave, the track is from my EP “Reticent Path”. The song was made for my best friend’s birthday, only with piano and guitar. The song always brings out the memory of when we were young, talking about music with smiles on our faces.
The best lyric you have ever written:
The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
Here people linger on, but never come back.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
I tend to get excited but also nervous at the same time on stage. It’s a journey to open my heart and to share my genuine thoughts with others.
The hardest track to play live:
Every track in my new album “The Ten”, since it’s made from modular synth, pretty much every track has some random live elements, that cannot be played exactly the same in a live show.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Definitely a field recorder! Pretty much all of my tracks are using field recordings, so a handy audio recorder is a must.
Describe your fans in three words:
Quiet, philosophical, wit.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
CocoRosie – Lemonade
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
I have a chillout album under production now, it will be coming out this year. The main theme is about the weather. Each of the tracks is coming from the field recordings under different weather conditions! Stay tuned at smarturl.it/diipsilence_music
