Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.

Krispy Kreme is a fast food brand that is known for lots of different flavours in the world of donuts. They are also known for their combinations as over the years they have been over the top and crazy. Today we will be looking at a variation that was released in 2020.

Krispy Kreme is known for it’s partnerships and collaborations and in 2020, they teamed up with Butterfinger to release not one but two variations.

The first variation of donut is called the Original filled donut. The snack is a glazed donut that is filled with peanut butter chocolate creme, it is then dipped in Butterfinger icing and then topped with Butterfinger pieces and a drizzle of chocolate.

The second donut is a chocolate cake donut which is fudge based dipped in chocolate icing then topped with a peanut butter chocolate creme and Butterfinger pieces.

The donuts were limited edition and sold for $2.19 each. The cake donut versions is 490 calories, 31 grams of fat and the original filled donut is 390 calories with 17 grams of fat.

The donuts were welcomed with positive reviews although from reading online it becomes apparent that the fudge cake donut is the more popular one.
