Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.
KALE CANDY
There have been lots of crossovers to try and make vegetables sound more appealing to people and today we look at a crossover that is pretty crazy – Kale Candy.
There is a shop in Seattle that is called Archee McPhee, we have discussed some of their products before and if you want unique products they are the place or website that you should visit. They have been around for 30 years and products such as Sardine Candy Canes, Ketchup Candy and even Fried Chicken Candy.
For today’s article, we are going to look at a candy that may even count as one of your five a day (just to clear, I can guarantee now it absolutely will not).
Kale Candy combines the vegetable and sugar into a sort of boiled sweet – which is striped green and white. The candy apparently has grassy, bitter, sweet taste. It can be purchased for $5.95 on the website.
