Your latest single you have released:

Our latest single “Candidate” from our latest album “Absolution” describes our imagination on how an election campaign would look like, if political candidates would be totally honest with us. We expressed it there with a bit of irony and a touch of exaggeration. As well as other Blitz Union songs, the composition is a fusion of many genres like rock, metal, hip hop, trap, EDM…

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

The very first single which we officially released was the song “Revolution” from our first EP of the same name. 

It was pure euphoria. We have been preparing the launch of Blitz Union for so long – so we actually couldn’t believe that this was finally happening.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

For me personally it is hard to choose just one. I have a special bond with each and every song of the “Absolution” album. But if I would have to name a few, that would probably be “Plastic”, “Money-Crazy World” and “The Truth”

Your favourite song to play live:

I really enjoy playing the song “Deleted” from our first EP. We always play this one as the last song of our set. Our guitar player Shodushi usually drops his guitar, grabs a microphone and goes wild together with me on vocals. 

Your most emotional track:

That would probably be “Not Proud (To Be A Human Being)”. This one was at the same time sad and hard to write, but the message had to be said and transformed into a song, into reality.

The best lyric you have ever written:

Since I was immersed in writing the lyrics of “Absolution” for such a long time, I really cannot objectively tell. So, let the listeners/fans decide on this one.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Nervousness and peace at the same time. 

The hardest track to play live:

For me, it is definitely “Revolution”. It is the opening song of our set and since I have to sing the highest and lowest notes of all our songs, it is really tough!

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

 Ear plugs, wet wipes & an emergency snack.

Describe your fans in three words:

I would love to know them all personally, but it’s impossible (so far?), but based on the ones who I am in touch with, they are open minded, caring and enthusiastic. I am so glad for that! Cheers to you, beloved Union!

Oh man…. the first song which popped to my mind is “No Cars Go” from “Arcade Fire”

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

This year’s biggest event in our Union is definitely the release of our debut album “Absolution”. We can’t wait for the first reviews and the feedback. 

As the “icing on the cake”, we will release some more language versions of our song “Plastic”. The Japanese, Spanish and Russian version have been released already, but there are two more versions to come!
