An Olly Jolly Christmas….
Last time I did a Gigstory I was talking about a Christmas show in Tampa, well this week I thought it would be great to talk about one in the United Kingdom. I was in Newcastle for a year for work and I discovered that there was a Christmas music show and I knew I had to go. There were a lot of acts I would never normally go and see such as Dappy, Ben Haenow and Nathan Sykes just to name a few. One act however I was intrigued to see was Olly Murs.

I was in the audience for Olly Murs for when he did an ITV special where he performed all the hits to an intimate audience. I was intrigued to see how he performed in stadiums as I had only seen him in a small environment before.
Even though Olly was one of the biggest acts that was playing the show, he was not the finale, instead he was put on halfway through the show. It was around the time that Olly had released new music so it was interesting to see how he approached them. The stage setting itself was very basic, I think this was that they could change the acts really quickly as there was a lot to get on.
Even though it was a basic set, it was still entertaining and was good fun. Olly Murs I found could still sing really good live and got the whole crowd singing along. The backing singers were also the stars of the show and they sing fantastically and also put on a show too.
All in all, it was a fun evening and whilst it wasn’t very festive, I had a great time.
