Welcome to a sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. This month we are going to take a bit of a festive twist on the article and look at Christmas themed games. Today we take a look at Official Father Christmas.
When I was a kid, one of our family friends gave us an old Amstrad CPC it was the late nineties so no-one was really using them and the games were on the edge of basically not working. However, there were a few that did work well and some of these working games I really loved and one of these games was called Official Father Christmas.
It was a fun little game – helping Father Christmas deliver presents and making them on Christmas Eve. My favourite part of the game was the last section where you drove a sleigh and had to drop them over the town below to make sure that the presents are delivered for the day.
The graphics and gameplay was basic but it made it so much more fun. As a kid I used to love it and even if the only buttons you used were the arrow keys and space bar it still was simple but very effective. I don’t think it was a game that I played at Christmas but it always made me feel festive.
