Multiverse Month – INTERVIEW – The Duck Billed Platypus…

All this month we are talking to Multiverse Impro, a London based troupe that was founded in 2014 and has been going strong ever since. They create improv musicals in a ‘multiverse with possible outcomes’. The co-directors of the team are Lee Apsey and Lisa Lynn, Rob Carolina is the executive producer and David Rees is the MD. Today In the Phoenix traditional way we do a quick fire question round with Lee – our last for 2021!

If you could be any animal what would it be and why?

A duck billed platypus because I want to know how it feels to see electricity.

Who is your favorite super hero and why?

Sarcastro because his whole concept is so absurd I can’t believe he made it all the way onto Fox kids.

If a movie was made of your life what genre would it be, who would play you?

Basically Jaws where I’m played by Christian Bale and I play the shark myself as a metaphor for my self-doubt.

If you could go any where in the world where would you go and why?

Safely? Anywhere? Let’s make the most of it and find out how weird things get at the core.

What would you do with your “15 minutes” of fame?

Maneuver myself into directing the live action adaptation of Hungry Hungry Hippos and make it an unironically great film.

What is one item you could NEVER live without?

Toothbrush. Everything else has a substitute.

Last time you laughed very hard out loud?

Rewatching clips from The Tick just now.

What is your favorite movie quote?

“Quick, change the channel!” ~ Zangief
