That’s What I Go To Gigs For…

When Busted were first around, I wasn’t really a fan, I was at that point of leaving pop music behind me and going into the world of rock music. They had some catchy hits and some fun music videos which made the an entertaining band to keep an eye on. However, they were never a band I even considered seeing live until they went on their reunion tour when I lived in Newcastle.

I am sure I have written about this before, but when I lived in Newcastle, I made it my aim to go to a concert every single month and Busted happened to bringing their show to the Toon, so I felt I had to go along and see them this time as I had heard good things about them live.

I was able to get a really good view and the stadium was completely full of fans of the band, even people you would never expect to be there. In front of me there was a really tough looking guy who I thought had been dragged there by his girlfriend but as soon as Busted entered the stage he knew all the lyrics (she knew none) and was dancing like crazy!

It was a really fun concert, the band are very good at performing live and it was like one big party. I loved the way they utilised the stage and used different sections through the mosh pit so that fans at the back could see them as well. They had these magnificent lighting displays throughout as well that created this really magical experience.

One thing that I thought was interesting about the gig is that the band allowed fans to pay to be on stage for the whole show – they wore masks and became sort of like the background of the stage, it also meant that they could experience what it was like to be on stage with their favourite band.

All in all, I walked away from the gig with a smile on my face having really enjoyed myself, I am still not the biggest fan but they were great live.
