Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – King Fabbs

Tell Us about:

Your latest single you have released:

I actually have not released a single, I released a five song EP. This is my official debut as an artist! However, I do have a single on the way! If there’s a song on the EP that I would have released as a single first, it would be Safe and Sound!

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

As I mentioned before,  I released a five song EP to make my debut. I felt incredible when it was finally released and out there for everyone to hear! I got a pretty overwhelming response from it and it’s still growing! This is something that I have wanted to do for a really long time and it just feels amazing to finally achieve this goal!

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

No Stopping Tonight is my favourite track I’ve created so far. It’s funny because when I first wrote it I actually was a bit unsure about it. I couldn’t decide if I wanted to release it with my EP or if I should release it at a different time. But once the song was mixed I really realized that the song was pretty special and all my doubt’s went away.

Your favourite song to play live:

I really do love playing ALL my songs live, they are all just super fun to play! But No Stopping Tonight is my closing song and it always feels so good to play. There’s something about it that just feels so good to play, and it’s my favourite to play live.

Your most emotional track:

Dancing in the Dark Room is a pretty emotional song. It’s about finding yourself and remembering who you are in your darkest moments. I’ve been down a lot in my life, I deal with depression a lot more than people realize and so many other people do as well. We live in a time where taking care of our mental health is of the upmost importance in our lives. Songs like this can really help people through tough times and I hope it gives people more of an understanding of who I am and how I feel sometimes. Dancing in the Dark Room really helps define the theme of the EP.

The best lyric you have ever written:

I’d say my best lyric is in my next single, and since it’s not released I’ll just tell Ya’ll what it is. “But you and me baby were just like the others, So don’t judge by the Colour.”

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

I feel like there’s lightning running through my veins so I of course get lots of adrenaline when I get on stage but I also constantly tell myself to stay relaxed and I purposely take long deep breaths so I can keep my nerves in check.

The hardest track to play live:

The hardest track for me is So Long. I’m not sure why but sometimes when I’m playing it live I have rough transitions throughout the song. Most of the time I manage it pretty well though.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

I have not actually been on tour yet but when I do go on tour at some point I definitely need to bring tea, Vocal Zones, Coconut Oil for my hair, Nintendo Switch, my MacBook, My favorite hoodie, a snapback, extra clean underwear and socks, and some snacks.

Describe your fans in three words:

Beautiful, Loved, Royal.

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

Jesus of Suburbia- Green Day

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

I have a single I’m going to be releasing in about a month and I will also be releasing a music video for Safe and Sound!
