Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
The latest Single “The Demon behind My Mind” deals with the fact that each one of us has his ‘demon’ in his head and that there are situations that one would like to deal with differently in one’s imagination but cannot do so because of morals and conventions.
But it is also a warning that not dealing with one’s demon or swallowing situations can at some point lead to psychological overload and a related freak-out.
Each one of us has a different relation to this topic. Be it “simple” every day stress factors, dissatisfaction at work, the difficult Corona situation or a big traumatic experience which needed to be dealt with.
For all of us it is very important to speak up and deal with those situations with the resources we have instead of swallowing down those situations and risk to at some point “explode”. But we also see that for a lot of people it is difficult to speak about things or stand up for themselves and that this in most situations at some point leads to a dissatisfaction which can’t be dealt with in a constructive way.
So this song should motivate people to deal with whatever causes stress in a constructive way before the “point of no return”.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
Our first Single was “Fight for Us” which is intended to encourage people to let go of everyday life through music, to immerse themselves and simply enjoy the concert but also a call to the metal community to support the smaller bands as well, presented with exaggerated, figurative but not literal language.
We all were quite nervous to release our very first song to the public – especially nowadays where a song can be heard by a really broad audience it is a very special feeling. But most of all we were extremely happy and enjoyed the moment of the release.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
Our absolute favorite one is not on the released EP so far but will be on the upcoming album.
If we would have to chose from the four songs we’ve released so far it would be really difficult as each one of us has a different favorite out of those. Regarding the process for us the latest Single “The Demon behind My Mind” was the most interesting and also challenging since it is a song with a music video which is something, we did for the very first time. But shooting the video was extremely interesting and a great and special feeling!
Your favourite song to play live:
This is clearly “Hopeless World” since we all just love this song and love how people are headbanging all their way through it. It’s a lot of fun to play this one!
Your most emotional track:
Since the topics we write about are all things, we experience in our daily lives or have experienced, all are somehow emotional for us – depending on how much we personally relate with the topic.
The best lyric you have ever written:
We would say the one’s from “Speak Words of Destruction”, which is “a processing of the partial separation, hostility and dishonesty of humanity and the desire to talk more and more openly with each other, to sort out problems and live more harmoniously together instead of relationships suddenly collapsing on you. And also a realization that most problems arise from poor or a lack of communication.
So it probably is a topic each listener can somehow relate but also illustrated with dark lyrics.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Most of us are nervous – some tend to be very quite before the gig whereas others are a bit shaky or realize the nervosity through the body – but it is always just an awesome feeling and when we hear our intro playing we are eager to walk on the stage and start the set.
It is a really “hyped” feeling and indescribable!
The hardest track to play live:
Actually one of the simplest songs in terms of song structure, but still very difficult to play:
The song is fast, has many passages where it has to be very quiet for a short time and tempo changes – here the timing has to be perfect from everyone.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Of course, the instrument the musician plays, a metronome, good headphones for when you want to be for yourself in the tour bus for some time, lozenges for the voice or anti-inflammatory cream for the instrumentalists and a recording device to capture good ideas for further songs.
Describe your fans in three words:
Great, loyal and supportive!
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
“The Writer” from “Breakdown of Sanity”. It is so complex and has such a great song writing with a really uncommon structure that it just makes us wish, we would have so much musicality and creativity to write something like this!
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
This year will probably be a bit silent since we are returning to the studio in the end of October and beginning of November to record our first full-length album.
However, we will do a livestream on November 14th – so tune in if you want to see us performing.
