Comedy Book Corner – How Not To Be a Boy, Robert Webb

It is a book that I have had on my reading list for a long time and I suppose with Robert being on Strictly Come Dancing for a short period of time it sort of pushed me to actually get around to reading his book, finally. I was a fan of the television shows like Peep Show and was intrigued to find out more about that and the partnership between Robert Webb and David Mitchell.

This book is more of an emotional journey down memory lane then you would probably initially expect. The book mainly looks at Robert’s childhood and growing up. If you are like me and want to know about the film and shows he has been in you are going to be disappointed as it briefly touches on it and doesn’t go into the depth that you desire.

Now, don’t let that dishearten you, there are many stories scattered throughout about Robert’s career but not as many as you would imagine. However, the ones that are there are interesting to read and may give you a slight insight into his career.

However, saying that, it allows you to understand the comedy actor more and what leads him to be where he is today. Some of the writing is raw and honest and gives you a really emotional vision of Mr Webb and allows you to understand him in a different way as it creates an emotional picture.

If you are looking for a book that will give you an in depth look at Robert then this is for you. If you are looking for a book more about the production and behind the scenes, maybe try another book.
