Charlie Vero-Martin – INTERVIEW – Cookie Monster and The Tabby Cat…

All this month, we are putting Charlie Vero-Martin in the spotlight. Charlie is a comedian. an improviser, and is even in the troupe Glitch where she improvises with puppets. In the last section of the interview we do a tradition quick fire question round.

If you could have any three people (dead or alive) over for dinner – who would they be?

Gene Wilder, Cookie Monster and Kathy Burke

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?

What scares you more, doing it and maybe failing or never trying?

Do you have any pets?

Yes, a very fluffy tabby cat called Cardhu but he lives with my parents in Edinburgh.

If you could be from any other decade (or era), which would it be??

My friend Frank and I have a joke that we should have been Edwardian. It would last a day and the sexism/racism/general social injustice would get pretty depressing.

If you had to have a tattoo to represent improv what would you have and why?

Some form of drawing of hands clapping at each other like in the circle warm up. All I know for sure is I’d get Ludmila Bogatchek to design it.

What’s on your music playlists right now?

Just added a few songs from the Bo Burnham Inside soundtrack…

Who would play you in the movie of your life?

A Jim Henson puppet.

If you had one superpower, what would it be?

To turn into any animal. A bit of a cheat because you could then also fly, get through cracks, be practically invisible…
