In The Games Corner – MEMORY CARD EDITION – The Nostalgia of Tetris

Welcome to the sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. Today we take a look at Tetris

I quite enjoy remembering early gaming experiences and one that springs to my mind the other day was one about Tetris. Everyone knows what the game is, there are so many different versions of it now that you could play a different variety for days on end. However, my memory is a bit more traditional then the re-mixes. When I was a kid in the nineties I remember there being these hand held game consoles that were programmed to only play one game.

In our family, we had a number of these game machines and I remember that a few of them were solely Tetris. I think for a very long time I actually believed that this was the only way you could play it.

I absolutely loved it, I adored the simplicity of the buttons, the ease of the fame and also the way it was portable because a lot of the games back in the nineties you had to play with a plug in the wall and put a huge game square card into the machine.

It’s funny, at the time you do not rehearse just how special something so simple could be all these years later but when I think about it now, I miss that. I wish that it was something I kept and could play or look at now because it would bring back all the fun of the memories.
