Welcome to a feature that will be published every other week. I go to a lot of gigs and there are always little stories that come out of them that I always want to tell someone so what better place to do it!
The Time We Saw Bryan Adams In Church
When I was at University, I had this friend who was really good at winning tickets to things, and one of those things that they ended up winning was tickets to go and see Bryan Adams at an intimate gig. My friend knew I loved concerts and invited me to come along as one of her plus threes and I was so grateful and excited that I had to say yes! We were currently living in Bournemouth so it was going to be an epic day trip to London where we would go full tourist and have a day out.
We had a great time on the run up to the concert, we went to all the tourist locations, ate great food and just had a lot of fun! The gig itself was taking place in a Church near Regents Street, which seemed like a really unusual location but also really exciting as it was an acoustic show it meant that the sound was going to be fantastic.
We were located in the top balcony of the church which meant we had a fantastic side view of the stage as well as front row seats. From where we were sitting we could see Elle McPherson (who was dating Bryan at the time) down below pretty much opposite us!
It was a fantastic show, and Bryan was so good live and seeing him in a church made it all that special as it was such a unique way to see a huge musician. We sung along to a lot of his songs and he heard us as he looked up at us and waved! I recorded a lot of the concert and it is weird hearing us sing back but it was great to have our happiness on film.
