There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Pocketful Of Sunshine – Natasha Beddingfield

Today we are looking at a single that I actually came across originally through the film The Ugly Truth and really likedit from then on. Pocketful of Sunshine is a single that was released by Natasha Beddingfield on the 15th January 2008. The single was the second track taken from Natasha Beddingfield’s second North American album that was called the same thing.

The track was written by Natasha Beddingfield, Danielle Brisebois and John Shanks and was released under the record label of Epic. The song is focussed on the theme of escapism and aims to do this by mixing an unusual instrumental to Natasha’s voice to create these emotions. The song was released with really positive reviews.

The song did well in the charts and went into the top 20 in Canada (3) and the US (5). In Europe it went in to the charts in the top 50 in Austria (28), Belgium (20) Czech Republic (41) and Switzerland (43). The song never charted in the UK but you may of heard it in the films such as The Ugly Truth and Easy A and television shows such as Desperate Housewives and Greys Anatomy.
