Today’s Topic- Songs That Make Me Sad
Whilst there are many songs in the world that make me happy there are also a few that can make me feel sad, this is usually because a track has an emotional attachment to them or it could be because the way they are constructed it can create a sense of sadness. So here are a few songs that make me feel sad.
The Show Must Go On – Queen
Some songs just have so emotion in them that they automatically bring sadness to me, I wasn’t alive when this song was released but I have heard it many times and the lyrics are so passionate and that is where they sadness comes in. The song is also used in many situations in television and film to create emotion and every time it gives me a lump in my throat.
Porcelain – Moby
I am not a fan of Moby but when my rabbit passed away suddenly I found comfort in this song by playing it on repeat. I played that song all day and I found comfort in it. It is not a song that I can listen to anymore but I respect it for the fact that it helped out when I most needed something.
One October Song – Nico Stai
I find music can be really emotional and play on heart strings if it is used in a special way in a television show, one show that was really good with using music to convey emotions was none other then the Comedy Drama Chuck, it is a programme that has a lot of great songs on their soundtrack and I have also discovered bands through this show as well. In one scene, I won’t go into it as I do not want to ruin any of the story for those who have not seen the show but this song is used at such a sad moment of the show that it really does create emotion and it is a song that is sung so passionately that it really emphasises this.
Smile – Chaplin
This is a song that now has lyrics but when it was originally part of the film Modern Times it was an instrumental that was created by Chaplin that really created the emotion in the scenes. Even as I watch Modern Times now, it still has the impact which I am sure it did back then in 1936 as well. I love the song with lyrics as well but I think the instrumental to me will always be the best.
Famous Last Words – My Chemical Romance
From the first day I heard this song I had a lump in my throat, it is such an anthem and the lyrics are amazing, if I ever have a down day and need a booster this is the song I listen to. I find this song emotional because of the passion that is expressed in the singing, it is a fantastic song and an amazing track to end an album with.
