Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Todd – No Saints In The City released June 8th 2021 on Golden Robot Records. The song features Alex Kane on Lead Guitar, Patrick Kennison on backing vocals and Brian Roth on Keys
John – “No Saints in the City” is our latest single and the title track to our upcoming album.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
Todd – Our very first single was Miles In-Between and it was released on Aug 17th 2020. The song came together pretty fast. John had the idea for the project and I sent him the idea within 24 hours. The song features Johnny Monaco on lead guitar, Kent Slucher on drums and Brian Roth on keys. It has sort of a Def Leppard “Hysteria” meets “Is This Love” by Whitesnake feel.
John – We were really excited by the traction it got. We had no expectations other than the same goal we always have: write good songs and they’ll find an audience.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
Todd – So far my favorite is “It’s Not Over” off of our EP “Headed West”. Who knows what songs will be released off of our upcoming full length titled “No Saints In The City”
“Queen of Used To Be” from the up-coming album is pretty cool. It features Denny Smith from the Great Affairs, and they have one of the coolest rock n roll bands on the planet right now.
Your favourite song to play live:
Todd – We have yet to play any live shows. Hopefully that will change.
Your most emotional track:
Todd – I would say a song called “Love Ain’t Enough” off of the upcoming album is pretty emotional. About letting go of someone. How do you know when it’s time to cut ties?
John – “If You’re Not Coming Back” I think. It’ll follow “Saints” as a second single. It sort of blends the loss of my mother with the fictional loss of a drug addicted significant other.
The best lyric you have ever written:
John – I don’t think I could come up with an answer for that. Every single word I’ve ever written causes me untold stress because I’m always concerned “can it be better”.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
Todd – Playing live is such a rush! You never know what’s gonna happen!
John – It feels like the culmination of every single moment of my life to that point. It’s all I’ve ever truly wanted to do. Mix that with a bit of the anxiety (they’re all gonna hate you)
The hardest track to play live:
Todd – Still waiting to figure that one out! Thanks Covid
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Todd – Phone is a must. Has all the tour plans and all your socials and contacts wrapped up in one device! Crazy these days
John – Books. Usually “STP: a journey through America with the Rolling Stones”. 1972 tour document. Mind-blowing.
Describe your fans in three words:
Todd – The greatest fans
John – They are us.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
Todd – So many good ones but “Without Love” by Bon Jovi comes to mind. Just a well written pop rock song.
John – Right now, I wish I’d written “Looking for Love, Ready for War” by Tuk Smith and the Restless Hearts!
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
Todd – more singles, new full length album in late 2021 or early 2022 and hopefully some shows!
John – Keep promoting singles and then full-length in the late fall. Negotiating some limited live engagements as well. We’re already two songs into our second full length album and (hopefully) that will come out via Golden Robot Records in 2022
