In The Games Corner – MEMORY CARD EDITION – The Adventures of Lomax

Welcome to a sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. Today we take a look at The Adventures of Lomax.

It is a game that I don’t remember how I got but it is one that i always found it fun to play. It was a platform game that played with the different depths of the background so that you were always kept engaged with what area, of the level you were going to do. The one thing that was really striking about the game was that it felt like it had a relation to the lemmings as the characters looked like them and also made the same noises that they made in other games.

The one thing that I found unique to this game is that when you jump the camera moved as well so it is constantly bouncing about which may of been hard to get used to if you play platform games that keep relatively static. Throughout the game you wear a hat and different ones that give you a variety of abilities that help you throughout the game. The enemies that you hit throughout are actually are characters that you are saving.

Looking at a video online I think that we nearly finished the game (or we cheated, I totally have forgotten) it was nice to see it again and have a nostalgic hit come back. It is not the best platform game but it was a really fun one.
