Off The Record – EP Focus – Black Hole Radio, Stranger Girl

Have you ever wanted To listen to a new band or musician and not sure where to start? Well, instead of listening to their commercial music, why not start with something off the album first!  Today we look at the brand new EP by Stranger Girl that was released last week – Black Hole Radio

Damage

This is the first track on the EP and it is a catchy and uplifting track with this really great drumbeat and melody. It is a track of many surprises and the vocals have this really unique sound that is very different to other tracks that are available in the genre of indie alternative. It is a song that is fun to listen to and has a real toe tapping to it. The song has this punchy feel to it that gives you a signal that Stranger Girl are going places.

Guilty Games

Heavy bass lines, melodic guitars and emotional lyrics, this is a track that really packs a punch and oozes with everything you want from an indie track. If you are a fan of the mid-noughties style of indie then you are going to love this as it has that sort of sound that is echoed throughout. This is a track you can imagine listening to on a summers day as it ha this really uplifting sound to it.

Powerhouse

This song has a really fun feel to it and it is a song that you can just tell is going to be a great track to see live at concerts and festivals. It has this sound to it where the guitars are creating this mesmerising melody that brings you into the centre of the track and highlights the lyrics of the track. The chorus is addictive and makes you want to sing along whilst tapping your feet.

Spitballing

This song has a very different sound to the rest of the EP and sort of melds into the genre of pop rock a little bit as well, the beat that is fluent throughout creates this exciting track. It is a song that feels sort of nostalgic to other music styles of the early noughties but brings them into a fresh new style for 2021.

Bad Side

This is the last track on the EP and it is a song that is punchy and full of these great guitar riffs, I personally feel its a bit unusual to have a song this fast paced and catchy at the end of an EP but that is what also makes it great, it leaves the listener wanting more and if this EP is anything to go by, they next lot of music by Stranger Girl is going to be truly exciting.
