Born To Try – Delta Goodrem

Today we are going to look at the debut single from Australian musician Delta Goodrem, who actually performed the song on Neighbours as her character Nina Tucker. It was a track that did really well in the United Kingdom as well as other countries. Born To Try was released on the 11th November 2002, it was written by Delta Goodrem, Audius and Mtawarira. The track was produced by Roc Wake and released under the record labels of Epic and Daylight. The single came off of her debut album that was called Innocent Eyes and released in 2003.

This song had quite a bit of popularity and is known as her ‘signature sound’ and was certified triple platinum in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association as it has sold over 220, 114 copies. The song went to number 1 in the Australian and New Zealand Charts. It went to number 3 in the UK singles charts and into the top 20 in other parts of Europe including Ireland (13), Netherlands (15) and Scotland (2).

I remember when this song came out and I always remembered the melody as it was quite unique. It was a pretty song and even listening to it now I can understand why it was such a hit.
