Welcome to the feature where every fortnight we will explore different topics that are listed in the book A List A Day by Paperchase. They range from food, music and travel to really random topics so I thought it wold be a fun one to talk about throughout the year!
Today’s Topic: Weird Things I Love
Everyone has bizarre things that they enjoy, we here are a couple of things that I really like even though they are a bit random.
Avocado with ketchup
I got introduced to this as a kid and whilst it sounds disgusting it is actually weirdly surprising very tasty. I somethings like cutting an avocado in half and squirrel a tint bit of ketchup in the hole and eat with a teaspoon. I know it sounds bizarre but don’t knock it until you try it.
I never thought this was weird as I have been eating cold mushrooms since as long as I can remember but I remember one day my friend saw me doing it and thinking I was really weird. I still don’t know why people find it weird but they do. I have been mushroom picking before with my friend who does it a lot and I can firmly say I would never eat really fresh ones cold as they are mostly slimy but white or chestnut ones from the supermarket I have no problem with.
The use of unusual percussion in songs
I love it when you hear a really random musical instrument in songs as it can really heighten the experience of a track. There are some fantastic percussion instruments out there and I get so excited when I hear them used creatively in a song.
