Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Christopher Taylor

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

Well it’s called By My Side. In essence the song is about rebuilding trust in a relationship after one of the people involved strays into the arms of another. Regret grows and there’s a realisation that the new relationship isn’t nearly as deep, loving and rich as the one that was left and so, it inevitably fails. It’s so hard for the person who was abandoned to deal with the (known and imagined) stuff that went on within the new relationship. The lyric is an acknowledgement of that. It’s out today

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

More Than I Will Ever Be. I felt a real sense of achievement and was really chuffed when it was picked up and played on BBC Introducing.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Chasing Rainbows which is the title track on that album. It also won an Akademia Music Award.

Your favourite song to play live:

How Beautiful You Are – love the middle 8 and the solo at the end.

Your most emotional track:

We Are One. This is my Magnum Opus!

The best lyric you have ever written:

In Your Mind – it’s about the struggle with metal health issues

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

I love it, whether it’s a small club or big outdoor gig I’m excited, a little nervous (in a good way) and the adrenalin kicks in!!

The hardest track to play live:

On the EP ‘Meet Me On The Horizon’ all the tracks are collaborations with other soloists, including sax, violin and trumpet and these tracks are hard to replicate live without those instruments – but are still great to play live with a different take.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

Moustache/Beard wax and comb

Describe your fans in three words:

Global, Diverse …. and discerning

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

You Get What you Give by the New Radicals it’s a top song.

What we can look forward to from your band this year

More recording and really looking forward to gigging again after this last 15 months!
