Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Loud Forest

Tell us about

Your latest single you have released:

It’s called “Costa Rica” and it’s a live in studio performance of the song that was captured when we were working on our 3rd full length album called 17.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

Our first single was a full length album! We didn’t really think about releasing singles first to promote the album, we just dropped it. We felt so excited about creating a sound that we had spent so much time dreaming about and crafting, it was so nice to finally share something that we had been hearing in our heads.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

“Miracle” on our last album stands out to us.

Your favourite song to play live:

“Loneliness” is so fun to play live because a mosh pit usually gets going and people scream along with us as we sing it.

Your most emotional track:

“If Words Had Power” for sure. It’s hard to sing it because it still brings up emotions.

The best lyric you have ever written:

“Just like Dolly said, luck might be in your head. You’ve got to work till you’ve bled, can’t live with regrets, I’ll sleep when I’m dead, get the F#%* out of bed…I feel lucky tonight”. That one is all Rachel from the song “Just Like Dolly Said”.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Oh, it’s such a weird mix of nervousness and excitement.

The hardest track to play live:

17. It’s just so raw and tender and the vocal is kind of acrobatic, hard to get it right but when it works it’s amazing.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

Good coffee beans, our nice coffee grinder, Chemex pour over.

Describe your fans in three words:

Loyal, Artistic, Wild

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

The Weight by The Band

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

Well, we just finished another album! Our 4th full length, it’s really fun, totally rock n’ roll, really raw and honest, you’re either gonna love it or hate it, we can’t wait to get out and play live.
