Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
Running On You
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
My first single was “Step Down”.The feeling after releasing my first single was like no other. Of course I was very nervous but very ready. I knew people would like it in my city of Montreal because there wasn’t anything that had that sound at the time. Seeing the response really made me feel like this is what I was meant to be doing. I’ve never felt that rush of getting a song ready to put out ever and I think I’ll be chasing that feeling for the rest of my life.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
I don’t think i even know my favourite song yet. I find myself saying “this is my favourite” after almost every song that will eventually be released. Every song is a special moment and choosing one moment just isn’t possible yet. There’s so much that I haven’t done and made yet that I’m really looking forward to.
Your favourite song to play live:
I think “Tell Me” would be a wild time. That song is so aggressive and I feel like it would boost the energy in the room by 100.
Your most emotional track:
Don Julio is for sure my most emotional record I have out. Even when recording “Don Julio” I changed from standing up to sitting down on a couch with the mic in my hand. It was very different but It felt right to be in a more relaxed state while recording that.
The best lyric you have ever written:
In my opinio the lyrics that mean a lot to me is in my most popular song “I Want It All” and the lyrics are
I want it all,
I want it all right now ,
I will not fall
Cause i want it all right now
Before making that song I would always tell myself those exact words every day.I feel like it’s such a simple statement but it means so much. Even to this day I listen to that song as a reminder to never stop and to keep going for what i want. To fight through anything that may be in my way.
The hardest track to play live:
All my songs have the same level of difficulty. They aren’t hard at all so play. When making songs I always think about simplicity. I do that because I find that simplicity is what really makes the song stick.
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
Items I would bring with me on tour would be my computer and microphone so I can keep my creative juices flowing. Vitamins are always essential to stay healthy. A lot of water! Some throat coat tea. Key pieces of clothing and some shoes to go with them. My confidence gotta be right on my hip with me at all times.
Describe your fans in three words:
Hardcore , Loyal, Excited.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
A song that i wish i had written would be “Mark My Words” by Justin Bieber
In my opinion the emotion was delivered perfectly through the words. You feel every word of that song and that’s something I want for my listeners. Having raw emotion and truth brings a different level of loyalty and connection to your audience.
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
A lot more singles and a following project to end the year off. Depending on the covid restrictions i really hope to secure a show for 2021.
