Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Bamboogie

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.


Bamboogie – Bamboo

Today we are going to talk about a song that even though you may not know the name, you definitely know the song as it has been played quite a lot. Bamboogie was released by the British House act Bamboo. The track was released on the 5th January 1998 and released under the record label off VC and Virgin. The single had samples of the track ‘Get Down Tonight’ by KC and The Sunshine Band.

When it was released it missed out by only 557 copies to the top spot of the UK charts and was beaten by All Saints with their track Never Ever. The song did really well in the charts and reacheed the top 10 in Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Scotland. The single ended up getting the silver certification in the United Kingdom and sold 200,000 copies.
