Taste Of States – This Week – Tie-Dye Frapuccino

This can be everything from the snacks that are available for a limited time to the foods that are classic traditions at events such as Christmas and Thanksgiving! Each week we will explore the facts and the history surrounding a different food.


If there is one thing that Starbucks is known for, then it is coming up with brand new ideas for drinks and in the summer of 2019, they took the idea of the drink and took it back in time to make one groovy looking drink. In July of 2019, it was announced that Starbucks in America and Canada would be releasing a Tie-Dye Frappucino for a limited time. In that particular year the colouful style had come back in fashion and the drink brand wanted to jump on board and get in on the trend too.

The frappucino could be purchased in three different sizes, Tall ($4.95), Grande ( $5.45) and Venti ($5.95) and could be purchased for a limited time. The Frappucino had a lot of different ingredients in it to make it unique and was created by using Ice, milk, red powder (made from hues of beetroot), blue powder (made from hues of spirulina), yellow powder (made from hues of tumeric), vanilla syrup, whipped cream and tropical Creme Frappucino syrup.

The drink, bright with colour is also meant to be very exciting with its flavour as well and reviewers have mentioned that it tastes very fruity. The idea behind the brightly coloured drink was to make it feel like summer as you drunk it. Some have commented that it tastes like a pina colada, whilst others have stated that it tastes like a candy.
