Forgotten Songs! – This Week – Better Together

There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.

Better Together – Jack Johnson

Back in the mid noughties, Folk American singer songwriter Jack Johnson released his third studio album called In Between Dreams and this was one of the tracks on that album. Better Together was released in 2006, it was written by Jack Johnson, produced by Mario Caldato Jnr and released under the record label of Brushfire. The song samples the track Heart and Soul from the Hoagy Carmichael track.

The song went into the charts in the UK at peak position of number 24 and ended up selling 600,000 units, turning Platinum in certification. The single wasn’t released in America until 2009 to go with the En Concert Live album, with that release it went to number 22 in the U.S Mediabase Triple A chart.

I thought this song was quite nice when it was released and had a really chilled out vibe to it mixed with a sense of romantic themes to it.
