I’m Lovin’ It – Justin Timberlake
It is not everyday that you hear a single that samples a fast food chains jingle but that is exactly what this weeks track did and it was also a single for Justin Timberlake. I’m Lovin’ It was released on the 20th November 2003, it was written by Pharrell Williams, Tom Batoy, Andreas Forberger and Franco Tortora and was produced by The Neptunes.
Justin was paid $6 million to sing the jingle and so the song was released as part of a 3 track EP. The song was released as a single and only did well in a few countries including Greece (17), The Netherlands (13), Ireland (15) and went to number 1 in Belgium.
I was never a fan of this song as I didn’t like the fact that it took a commercial product and tried to promote it. I never found it a great track if I am being honest with you. In the UK the song went to number 79 in the charts.
