Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – League Of Lights

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

We released our latest single ‘The Collector’ on 5th March. It’s about the things that we choose to carry with us, not physical things, but the compliments or insults.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

Forever’ was released in 2012.  We were super excited as Glynn Morgan (Threshold) kindly provided guest vocals for us.  It was so great to work with him, I have loved his voice for years.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

We love the track ‘Dreamers’ so much that we named the album after it.  It’s about having a dream, preparing for it properly and then succeeding when no one believes that you will.

Your favourite song to play live:

Kings and Queens’ from our last album, it feels so massive on stage.  I’m most looking forward to performing ‘Persephone’ from our new album.  I can’t wait for that, it has such a good energy to it.

Your most emotional track:

In the in Between’ from our last album.  Rich wrote the first verse and chorus without me and made me feel that he could see into my head.  It is sometimes hard to perform the emotional tracks, I feel very exposed.

The best lyric you have ever written:

‘I know that there were days when you were fire and I was flood’… from ‘I Still Remember’ on our new album.  I love the track so much.  It’s a real trip down memory lane kind of song.

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Deep breath, lights down, calm.

The hardest track to play live:

All of the personal emotional ones, it’s like the audience can see my most personal thoughts.

Essential items you always take on tour with you?

Lip balm, I like one in each pocket at all times.  Once the lip balm is packed, the extras are books, headphones, hat and scarf.

Describe your fans in three words:

the absolute best!

A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:

This year it would be ‘Glitter’ by Patrick Droney, it’s a beautiful song about loss of which there has been far too much this past year.

What we can look forward to from your band this year:

A new album that we released today called ‘Dreamers Don’t Come Down’.  And hopefully some live shows when they are allowed again.
