In the Games Corner – MEMORY CARD EDITION – Arcade Dance Fun

Welcome to a new sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. Today we take a look at the arcade dance machine.

When I was a kid, I used to love going to the arcade because of one machine and one machine only – the dance machine.I never had the dance mats or games at home so when I went to the arcade I used to love going on it. Arcades were pretty popular in the early noughties and you could go to them pretty easily. It was something I would do as a treat when i got given pocket money or in later years with my friends at school.

For a £1 on the dance arcade you got three goes, meaning you could choose three different songs and difficulty levels. One of my favourites to dance along to was Mucho Mambo as it was so fun and I really enjoyed trying to get a perfect score on it. Another track I really liked was Captain Jack as it was a remix and had a really strong beat to dance to.

Whenever I went on this machine I ended up finding a way to dance a lot easier and that was by holding the bar behind me. I would hold it tightly throughout and used it to jump and lift my body in the air. It probably isn’t the way you were meant to use it but it is what I used to love the air I could get on it.

I remember that a bowing alley near me used to have a huge arcade and i used to go there with friends. We used to have so much fun on the dance machine it was so addictive. I tried it at people’s houses on the mat but i never enjoyed it as much as the arcade.
