Today’s Featured Artist – INTERVIEW – Leaving Eden

Tell us about:

Your latest single you have released:

Eric Gynan: “Detached” This song is off of our newest album titled Fable released January 2021. It’s really about going through life unconnected and detached.

Your first single and how you felt when it was released:

Eric Gynan: How I Miss You – This was one of the first songs that I’ve ever written so it’s definitely close to the heart.  This was released off of our first album Between heaven and hell.

Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:

Eric Gynan: Well it’s funny that part of your name is “Phoenix” as it goes along with one of my favorite tunes, the title track “Out of the Ashes”.

Your favourite song to play live:

Eric Gynan: Our self titled song “Leaving Eden” It’s a pretty technical song all around so it’s fun to get it right live on stage.

Your most emotional track:

Eric Gynan: “The World is Yours” This song is kind of a dire warning for the future if you want to see a change for the better.

The best lyric you have ever written:

Eric Gynan:
For these debts you’ll pay….
As I’m tied to my senses buried beneath the waves
Hidden from delusion  through the darkest days
The signs Are getting clearer  they multiply in my mind
Drawing closer from a distance  to questions left behind
abandoned and forgotten  eroding away  trying to get stronger only to Decay
The page is getting longer asleep within my veins
touched by a spirit can’t speak their names
sent to me from somewhere  guiding me through the signs
Embarked upon a journey seeing between the lines
try to make some sense to give it all away
share the gifts of earthly pleasures for as long as you may stay
make no mistake about it inevitably one day
you’ll cast your debts one stone at a time and for these debts you’ll pay

~Eroding Away

Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:

Eric Gynan: Well, it’s always the same and that is a slight Rush of adrenaline. Some might call it anxiety, I call it a natural high. Each and every show we play is just as important as the next. I am always grateful to have our schedule full. Really just playing one show is better than Christmas for me, it’s really what I live for.

At this particular time when things have been shut down, yes we have gotten a lot of work done but nothing takes the place of playing live on stage. We so much miss our friends’ faces.  We also feel so much for the people they have not been able to work in this environment and there’s so many of them. We certainly hope things change for the better as always.

Leaving Eden has toured the USA, UK & Canada sharing the stage with hundreds of the biggest national bands in the world including; Alice Cooper, Alice In Chains, Anthrax, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Sabbath (Heaven & Hell), Disturbed, Dropkick Murphy’s, Drowning Pool, Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, HELLYEAH, Hookers & Blow (featuring members of Guns ‘N’ Roses, Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P.),Killswitch Engage, Korn, Lacuna Coil,  Motorhead, Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden), Papa Roach, Pop Evil,Ratt, Rob Zombie, Slayer, Steven Tyler, Stone Sour, The Misfits, , ZZ Top, Nickelback, Skillet & many more.

The hardest track to play live:
