Welcome to a new sister article to In The Games Corner that is about computer games but with a different spin. I have been playing computer games from a very young age and I find that some games when I think of them are attached to very strong memories. So, I thought it would be fun to share memories that I have attached to some of these games as there are a few. I wanted to call this feature Memory Card because a lot of my memories that i have strongly are around the Playstation 1 and there will be a few around that particular card. Today we take a look at Pokemon Red

When I was a kid, Pokemon was a big thing a lot of children in my class collected the cards and traded them. I had a couple but I can’t remember where I got them from, all I remember is that I had a shiny Charizard card. Another thing that ended up being really popular was the Gameboy Color game.

I had Pokemon Red, again I can’t remember who bought it for me but I remember I I enjoyed playing it, I never really bothered playing against people through the connection wire because I enjoyed the adventure and collecting the Pokemon.

I got really far on the game and I nearly completed it and was on the stage where you go back and try and collect all the Pokemon on your Pokedex, then disaster struck. I was tidying my room one day and I think I put all my games in a plastic bag. Little did I know at the time that I accidently threw them away and put that bag in the bin liner!

Think of all that hard work! I was devastated that I had done something so stupid! I could never really look at that game again in the same way even when I got a replacement.

Before I left the world of Pokemon and the memories I also have a little extra one to add that is about school. We were in an IT lesson at school and one of the kids learnt how to hack all the computeres so we could play Pokemon instead. Every screen in the classroom had Pokemon on their screen, we all got into trouble but it was fun and a funny memory.
