Tell us about:
Your latest single you have released:
TGC: “Swallow that Pill” Is an upbeat pop, rock track with fast-paced tunes. The storytelling and vocals in this track will allow listeners to be empathetic to the frustration of a hard worker being unappreciated and taken advantage of. “Swallow That Pill” inspired us to reflect on coworkers that worked hard every day, only to get backlash and harassed by managers or bosses.
Your first single and how you felt when it was released:
CH : My first single released with Tarah Who? was “Numb Killer” and it was awesome !!!
TGC: I think the first song I have released for Tarah Who? was ‘As Long As it Takes’. I wrote this song for a friend who had drug addiction, and I wanted to let her know that I was there for her. That was in 2006. It was not the first song I had written but the first song I released.
Your favourite song that you have created that is an album track:
TGC: It is hard for me to answer this because I am too close to the songs. They all mean something or they take me back to that moment I wrote it or recorded it. They are my babies.
Your favourite song to play live:
CH : I want to say “Copycat” because there is a few different parts in the song and it’s always fun !!
TGC: Well we haven’t played those new ones yet and I think they are going to be fun to perform. So far, I have really enjoyed playing ‘Ache’ live. We have a special version for the live performance, and by the time we play ‘ACHE’ people are usually warmed up and start mosh-pitting.
Your most emotional track:
TGC: I think it is ‘Especially from you’ which is a really old song… Then I got p***ed off and started writing angry songs
The best lyric you have ever written:
TGC: Oh I don’t know… I like ‘Unbalanced’ and ‘Human to be’ . ‘Human to be’ is about accepting yourself for who you are and how you look.
Describe the feeling you get when you walk on stage to do a show:
CH : I’m always nervous before walking on stage but once the first note hits, I’m ready to rock !!
TGC: I usually have so much going on.. !lol.. I think I am just really excited. The moment we have been waiting for! Here it is! Let’s make it big!
The hardest track to play live:
CH : We don’t play it too often but I’ll say “Down” because it’s mostly an instrumental song and it’s going everywhere hahahaha !!
TGC: Hahah! It is not “going everywhere”! It actually makes total sense in the chaos that it is! It is just because we don’t have the same musical background! Coralie needs structure and “square” things. I am more into noises and feelings. Intensity. The song is about losing control, feeling down, and feeling alone. So it is chaos in my head.. That is why, it sounds a little bit all over the place. but it is a good all over the place! Where are my grunge people? I don’t have a hardest track to play live, HOWEVER!! every time we get to ‘Pantomath’ I give a look at Coralie like ” Here we go! you ready?.. coz I am not!’ then we hear 1,2,3,4 and BAM! Because it goes fast, not fast as in the fastest song, just fast enough and I scream right away so it is a bit of endurance.. but once we are playing it, it just… happens!
Essential items you always take on tour with you?
CH : My computer and drum pad.
TGC: Makeup, perfume. toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, jewelry, camera, SD cards.
Describe your fans in three words:
CH : Passionate, Fun and Rocker !!
TGC: Cool, dedicated, loyal.
A song by another artist or band you wish you had written:
CH : “Ghost Love Score” by Nightwish, it’s a masterpiece !!
TGC: I don’t really have any.. I love any song from the Distillers, but I would not have written the same lyrics, so it would not have worked the way it does. The interpretation from the artist and because it came from them is what makes those songs special, I would have done it my way and it would not have been the same. So I can’t put a song down.. lol!
What we can look forward to from your band this year:
CH : Being able to go back on the road and meet everybody!!
TGC: We are going to release a song and music video from our new album every month, and keep you and ourselves busy until we are able to get back on the road! I am going to start working on episode 4 of our documentary, and if you have no idea what I am talking about, click here for the first 3 episodes
