Welcome to a brand new feature where every fortnight we will explore different topics that are listed in the book A List A Day by Paperchase. They range from food, music and travel to really random topics so I thought it wold be a fun one to talk about throughout the year!

Today’s List – 5 Favourite Songs

For a music lover this is a REALLY hard question. On a day to day basis my favourite songs change depending on how I am feeling that week, month or year. So I really had to think about this question and I decided to approach it in the angle of what songs I would want to listen to if I was stranded on an island. So here are 5 songs that I love so much that I would play on repeat and never get bored of.

1) Desperate Measures – Marianas Trench

This song to me is an addiction, I can’t get enough of it. I don’t know why I love it so much bit it just automatically puts me in a good mood. I just remember when I first heard this song, it was like nothing I had ever heard before and I instantly fell in love with it. Also I adore the music video it has so much to see in it that I am addicted to that too.

2) Time Is Running Out – Muse

This is a song I don’t listen to hardly at all but I class it as one of my favourite songs. I love how different it is, I love the drum beat and the guitar throughout. The first time I heard this song it just caught my ears and I fell in love with it. I always feel this song is one that has to be played loud.

3) This Is Gospel – Panic! At The Disco

I really liked this song and the first time I heard it I loved the fact that you could really hear the emotion in Brendan’s voice. What really pushed it over the edge for me was the piano version, it is so beautiful and I love it so much. It is so wonderfully constructed and never get bored of it.

4) After Midnight – Blink-182

It was really hard narrowing down what Blink song to put on this list but it was a definite decision to put this track on there. I utterly love this song, I don’t listen to it as much anymore but I love the words, the lyrics and the song as a whole. I had every version possible of this song on my iPod – the live version, a version singing on Jimmy Kimmel as well as the album version. I was addicted.

5) The Adventure – Angels & Airwaves

It was so so so so so so hard to choose a song from AVA there are so many tracks I love and can’t imagine being without that trying to choose one was difficult but in the end I chose The Adventure. It is a really uplifting track and it just really defines what AVA are, I love the depth of the music and never get bored of it. Also if i am on an island alone and looking up to the stars I want a spacey sounding one too right?
