There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them very rarely that they can create a sense of nostalgic for you, the listener. So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.
Laura – Scissor Sisters
Today we look at a single that I think is one of my personal favourites of this band and also everytime I saw them perform it live on television they always did something really unique. Laura was released by Scissor Sisters on the 27th October 2003, it was written by Babydaddy and released under the record label of Polydor. The song was also was the lead track off of their debut album which was self titled.
The first time it was released it only reached number 54 on the UK Charts so in June of 2004 they re-released the track and it went to number 12 instead, This was due to the popularity of the band increasing due to other tracks such as Comfortably Numb and Take Your Mamma.
I used to (and still do) like this song, it was really different to other tracks that were around and it stood out by a mile. The one thing I liked about the Scissor Sisters is that they always had really interesting music videos.
