30 Best Songs Of 2020 – Part 3

It has come to the point of the year when we celebrate all things music and take a look back on the year and what songs that it has provided us with. This year has been a weird year with a lot of us listening to tracks in the comfort of our own home and a lot of them have become viral because of TikTok. Today we have a look at the last ten in our list of greatest songs of 2020


In the summer of this year it saw the return of You Me At Six with their brand new single MAKEMEFEELALIVE which was a taster of the sort of music that is going to come for their seventh studio album which is due for release at the beginning of 2021. The music video featured Games Of Thrones star Leigh Gill.

22) Green Day – Father Of All

At the beginning of the year Green Day released their thirteenth studio album called Father Of All Motherf****** and one of the singles that they released off it in 2020 was Oh Yeah! which was released on the 16th January 2020. The song samples Joan Jett’s cover of Do You Wanna Touch Me. The single went to number 1 in the US Rock Airplay charts and the Canada Rock charts.

23) Biffy Clyro – Tiny Indoor Fireworks

In May, the indie rock band Biffy Clyro released the brand new single called Tiny Indoor Fireworks which was set to be part of their eighth studio album. The song was released just before they were set to play Radio 1’s virtual Big Weekend 2020.

24) Doja Cat – Boss Bitch

At the beginning of this year Doja Cat released the track Boss Bitch which was part of the soundtrack for the film Birds of Prey. Throughout lockdown this song also was used a lot on Tik Tok for a dance / video trend that became viral. The song did well in the charts reaching the top 10 in Belgium, Estonia, Finland and Ireland just to name a few. It was also voted the 12th best song of 2020 by NME.

25) The Killers – My Own Soul’s Warning

This year saw the return of the American Rock band The Killers with their sixth studio album Imploding The Mirage which was released in August. This single was the third to be released from the album and it was released on the 17th June 2020. There was two music videos made for the track – the first one a sneak peak of the album and the second one a video about a road trip. The single went to number 4 in Canada Rock Charts and Number 4 in the US Adult Alternative Songs.

26) Captain Tom Moore, Michael Ball and NHS Voices of Care Choir – You’ll Never Walk Alone

If there is one person that become a hero in 2020 then it is Sir Captain Tom Moore. In April he turned 100 and as well as raising thousands of pounds for the NHS he also went to number one in the charts. The single was released at the end of April and sold 82,000 units making it the fasted selling single of 2020 at the time.

27) Waterparks – Lowkey As Hell

This year Waterparks returned with a new song called Lowkey As Hell.The song was released in September and it was a sign of new content to come as the lead singer Awsten Knight returned with mulitcolored hair which was a sign of new things to come as for the last album he had bright green hair which was cut off to tease new music / new era. The track had the first music video to be directed by the singer as well.

28) Marilyn Manson – We Are Chaos

This year saw the return of Marilyn Manson and this was the lead single off of his eleventh album with the same name. The track was released on the 29th July and it was produced by Manson and Shooter Jennings. The single went to number 1 in the US Hard Rock Digital Songs Chart and the German Alternative Singles Chart.

29) Vera Lynn and Katherine Jenkins – We’ll Meet Again

If there was ever a song to define 2020 then it is this track, it was used in a speech by the Queen, it was played alot through the first national lockdown whilst also bringing back nostalgia of the wartime when the UK was united in similar ways as they have been this year. Katherine Jenkins added her vocals to the original 1939 track to raise money in the coronavirus pandemic for the NHS Charities Together.

30) Dua Lipa – Physical

On the 30th January Dua Lipa released the song Physical from her second album Future Nostalgia that was also released this year. The track did exceptionally well in the charts and went into the top 5 in Belgium, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Poland, Slovakia and the UK to name a few. It also was nominated and won awards as well including Best Visual Effects at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards.
