There are so many songs that are out there everywhere then all of a sudden they disappear and you only hear from them on cheesy countdowns run by music channels over Christmas if you are lucky.
So roll up and welcome to Forgotten Songs where we celebrate these forgotten wonders.
This City – Patrick Stump
He is the frontman of the rock band Fall Out Boy and there was a time when the band were on hiatus when he released a solo album. Today we have a look at his debut single from his debut album Soul Punk.
This City was released on the 26th July 2011, it was written by Patrick Stump and released under the record label of Island. Apparently according to an interview This City was written relatively late into the album process and loved it so much that he went and rewrote and changed the album so it conceptually worked better with the track.
The album the single comes from is Soul Punk which was created entirely by Patrick Stump – he did everything from composing all the music, writing the lyrics and playing over 10 instruments. This City did well in America and reached number 2 in the US Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 charts.
This single is a really interesting track, it is very different sound to the Fall Out Boy music and sort of refreshing to hear a different side of Patrick Stump.
Forgotten Songs will return in 2021 if there is any song or band you think we should mention drop us an email at phoenixremixcomedy@gmail.com
